Hey! I’m Alexe 👋

author with her dog by the river

I’m the kind of person who always has a backpack half-packed, ready to head out on the next adventure. Whether it’s hiking all day with my dog Bunny, climbing a rock wall, or discovering a hidden corner of Quebec, nature is where I go to recharge and reconnect.

My path to outdoor adventure hasn’t been traditional—I didn’t grow up doing multi-day hikes or camping off-grid. I studied biology, then biotechnology, and later computer science. But somewhere along the way, I found myself falling in love with the outdoors. I started planning weekend hikes, road trips, and backcountry getaways—and little by little, I learned what works, what doesn’t, and what makes an adventure truly unforgettable.

This blog, Alexe on the Move, is where I share that journey with you.

I know what it’s like to be a beginner—to ask questions like: Do I need hiking poles? What if it rains? Where can I go that’s beautiful but not too intense? That’s exactly why I created this space: to help people like you explore the outdoors with confidence and curiosity.

Here, you’ll find beginner-friendly hike ideas, hidden gems, road trip itineraries, and honest tips based on real experience—not perfection. I won’t pretend to be a wilderness expert. But I’ll always be honest about what worked, what didn’t, and what I’d do again in a heartbeat.

If you dream of muddy boots, nights in a cabin, campfire-cooked corn, or climbing to a summit just for the view—we’re going to get along great.

And if you’re ever wondering what should I do this weekend?—send me a message. I probably have a few ideas for you.
